Greetings Seniors

Seniors Get Ready for the High School Assessment (HSA)!

Starting in 2009, students must pass all four high school assessment tests in Algebra, English, Biology and Government or obtain a combined score of 1602, to receive a high school diploma.

SURRATTSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL CURRENTLY OFFERS ACADEMIC VALIDATION COURSES TO ASSIST THOSE SENIORS WHO HAVE NOT PASSED THE HIGH SCHOOL ASSESSMENTS. PARENTS IF YOUR CHILD IS NOT ENROLLED IN THE ACADEMIC VALIDATION COURSES AND YOU ARE UNSURE OF HIGH SCHOOL ASSESSMENT PASS RATE ON THE FOUR CONTENT AREA TESTS TO DATE, PLEASE CONTACT THE SCHOOL AND ASK FOR MRS. PEGUES, PROFESSIONAL SCHOOL COUNSELOR OR MRS. PETERSON, TESTING COORDINATOR! DO NOT DELAY. HIGH SCHOOL ASSESSMENTS(HSA,s)ARE GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL SENIORS. ONCE AGAIN PEASE DO NOT DELAY

Students and parents should aim for a list of 8 to 12 schools that you would be happy attending. Include a mix of reach schools, 'good matches,' and safety schools. But remember – apply only to as many schools as you can submit well-prepared applications for. You'll get better results by applying to 6 schools with applications that reflect 100 per cent of your best effort than you will by applying to 12 schools with applications reflect 50 per cent of your best effort.
